The final CDI of Wellington’s winter season is here, and a number of Canadian Olympic hopefuls are in the hunt for qualifying scores. In addition to the familiar pairs we’ve been watching this season, a few combinations are stepping into the Adequan Global Dressage CDI ring at Grand Prix for the first time this season. Here are the Canadian entries:
CDI3* Grand Prix Camille Carier Bergeron & Sound of Silence Chris von Martels & Londoncrown Jaimey Irwin & Simsalabim Jill Irving & Genesis Lindsay Kellock Duckworth & Tu Le Merite CDI4* Grand Prix Ariana Chia & Guateque IV Danielle Gallagher & Come Back de Massa Jill Irving & Delacroix 11 Mathilde Blais & Fedor Rakeya Moussa & Davidoff V.H. Trichelhof 2020 Olympian Brittany Fraser Beaulieu is entered in the Lövsta Future Challenge Final - YH Grand Prix with Jill Irving’s 2014 KWPN gelding Jaccardo. Canadians Ally Dunlop on Givarro and Brooke Mancusi on Kalisto Sollenburg are both registered for the CDI1* Prix St. George, with Mancusi also competing in the I-1. Annika Kreining and Francis XI will contest the FEI Junior division while Kiara Williams Brown with Fortissimo is the sole Canadian Young Riders entry. Scores will be available at Equestrian Hub, with live streaming from the CDI ring available at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival website.

CDI action was on the west coast this weekend at the HITS Del Mar Dressage Affaire in California, with Canada’s young riders rising to the top of the leaderboard.
In the FEI Young Riders division, Sophia Rokstad and Lord Nunes won the team test with 65.784%, and rode to victory again yesterday with 66.618 in the individual test. The pair placed second in today’s freestyle in a score of 67.692. In the FEI Junior division, Alison Campbell-Wright and Slapstick II finished second in the team and individual tests, on scores of 61.061 and 62.549. They were the sole entry in the FEI Jr freestyle, earning 63.75%. Three Canadians were among the field in Saturday’s CDI3* Grand Prix: 7th Brittney Simpson - Kartsevo Goldfinch - 61.696% 9th Sara Pocock - Connaisseur - 61.413% 10th Claire Robinson - Glamour Boy - 59.587% Pocock and Simpson also competed in Sunday’s Grand Prix Special, finishing 4th and 9th respectively, on scores of 64% and 57.851% Canada’s Carol Robinson and her partner Lightfoot were the sole entries at Small Tour in the CDI Amateur division, earning 61.863 in the PSG Friday, 60.785 in Saturday’s I-1, and 64.25 in Sunday’s I-1 freestyle. |
