International dressage competition returns to the Royal Winter Fair with an exciting FEI CDI3* competition confirmed for the 2024 event, in November.
Eight horses and athletes will face off in the Grand Prix during the day on Monday, November 4. During the evening performance on Tuesday, November 5, all eight will compete in the Grand Prix Freestyle for the Royal Champion title and $35,000 in prize money. “We are thrilled to bring world-class competitive dressage back to the Royal Winter Fair,” says Cyrus Cooper, Chief Executive Officer. “Spectators can expect to see several of Canada’s Olympic dressage team members competing, as well as some exciting international riders. It’s going to be a real treat for dressage fans as well as fairgoers who are new to the sport.” According to well-known competition organizer Andrew Woodley, who is leading the working group assisting the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair with this event, the CDI3* is the first step in an ambitious plan to bring back World Cup qualifying classes to the Royal in the future. Royal Horse Show tickets are on sale now. General admission tickets are required for the Monday Grand Prix competition. Tickets for the Tuesday evening event featuring the Grand Prix Freestyle Final as well as the Knightwood Hunter Derby National Championship are required.
